The rising star has impressive social media following
The young golfer will have plenty of prominent supporters as she begins her professional golf debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, operates multiple golf courses and frequently plays against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we play competitive games," she stated.
Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"He practically suggested to play and relax," she continued.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's busy with presidential duties, so he's quite busy."
While still amateur, the golfer has played in a mere three competitions this year and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
Yet she can get advice from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He represents the best player in the world," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's an even better human being. He suggested me to compete, have fun, and go with the flow."
Kai will face several the biggest names in the sport at the Annika, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
The LPGA stated that Kai's presence brings golf to new audiences, particularly among the next generation.
Kai has a massive following and has started her own fashion and living company.
Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
