The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.
No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
The receiver missed the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
