Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community continue to honor the duo.
Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt able to express about his deep grief.
"Enough time has passed that I can at last put my grief into words," shared Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, remarking that he doesn't recollect "any day without joy".
"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes wrote.
He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
In a different piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.
This week, a Los Angeles judge decided to block the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.
A court order placed a security hold on the files to limit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" connected to the probe.
The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
Following the deaths, public individuals shared different reactions.
Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing divisive claims that were widely condemned by many individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the those speaking out recently. Talking on his podcast, Rogan described the statements as "disappointing" and remarked they showed a worrisome absence of compassion.
Rogan finished by proposing that an associate ought to have intervened when the impulse to comment on the passing was made.
