The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
