The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans shared condolences for the fighter in the following the terrible crash.
